As a Tax Manager at Cray Kaiser, Dhruv Panchal brings something rare to the table. He’s able to bring a big-picture perspective to every client’s engagement because of his knowledge of tax and assurance. While many professionals choose one specialty, Dhruv’s experience spans both worlds, giving him the ability to see the whole playing field, spot exactly what clients need, and understand where the biggest impact can be made.
On the corporate side, Dhruv works extensively with S corporations and partnerships. For individuals, his work centers on overall tax planning. And when a complicated or unique project comes along? Dhruv is ready for the challenge, always focused on making problem-solving easy, frustration-free, and educational. For him, the value provided goes beyond the numbers. It’s all about helping clients understand the “why” behind the work and the impact of each decision.
Dhruv joined Cray Kaiser in 2017 as a senior in both tax and assurance before narrowing his focus to tax. His career began at a small CPA firm where he honed a wide range of skills across assurance and tax, followed by a role at a regional firm specializing in auto dealership assurance services. This dual expertise has given him a rare ability to see situations from multiple angles, which benefits both his clients and his team. Dhruv earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois Chicago and is a licensed CPA.
Travel style: I’m a last-minute packer who likes to see where things lead once I get to my destination.
You didn’t know: I originally planned on becoming a pharmacist, but midway through college, after a second year of organic chemistry, I switched to accounting. It turned out to be the right call.
Hobbies: I enjoy reading, seeing operas, biking, and hiking.
Favorite opera: “Ernani” is a favorite but really, anything by Giuseppe Verdi.
Favorite exercise: Running.
Favorite city: Paris. We went there pre-COVID and met quite a few locals, which made the experience feel more like living there than being tourists.
