Dan Swanson, Manager at Cray Kaiser, has accounting in his blood. Growing up surrounded by CPAs, he learned that accounting is more than just numbers. It’s about listening. Dan takes a thoughtful approach to his work, focusing on understanding each client’s goals and challenges to provide practical, well-informed solutions.
Construction contractors are Dan’s primary areas of focus, where he serves in a traditional CPA role. He also works closely with community college foundations, where his role shifts to a more hands-on, outsourced finance function, helping organizations prepare and navigate the external audit process. Dan also serves clients in the manufacturing, waste collection, technology and wholesale industries, bringing broad experience and a practical approach to every engagement.
Within Cray Kaiser, Dan is a leader in the assurance department. He regularly leads internal training sessions on accounting and auditing standards and enjoys mentoring the next generation of accountants. Whether guiding team members through complex client issues or helping them build confidence in their work, Dan is committed to developing both people and expertise.
Dan’s accounting and assurance experience provides a strong foundation for the consulting and tax services he brings to each engagement. He values seeing the whole picture and delivering practical insights that help clients better understand their finances and make informed decisions. Ultimately, Dan’s goal is to educate and empower clients with the financial knowledge they need to lead their businesses into the future.
