Cray Kaiser Employee Spotlight: Rolake Adedara

In Cray Kaiser’s Employee Spotlight series, we highlight a member of the CK team. We couldn’t be more proud of the team we’ve grown and we’re excited for you to get to know them. This month we’re shining our spotlight on Rolake Adedara.

GETTING TO KNOW ROLAKE

As an Assurance Manager, Rolake leads assurance engagements such as compilations, reviews, and audits across varying industries. She seeks to add value to her clients’ businesses by offering solutions that improve profitability and internal processes. Rolake is also involved in internal training and facilitating team members’ career growth at CK.

Rolake graduated with her B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Upon relocating to the United States, she obtained her CPA certification. Prior to CK, Rolake worked with several mid-size firms and was involved in attestations, tax, and consulting engagements. She is also a member of the AICPA and IL CPA Society.

One of Rolake’s favorite quotes is: “you’re not a success until you have a successor”. That’s why she feels her most impactful moments in her career relate to being a good role model to staff, helping them learn, and seeing them advance in their own careers. Her advice to someone new to the accounting industry is to, “stay the course, never stop learning, take ownership of your work, and be prepared to go above and beyond.”

WHY CK?

Rolake has been with CK since January 2021 and was initially drawn to the sincerity, authenticity, and commitment she saw among the team throughout the interview process. She also appreciated the number of women in leadership roles at CK. It showed her that the firm is dedicated to the growth and advancement of women in the profession. Since being here, she’s grown to value CK’s commitment to education and the ability to “rub minds” with her teammates that have differing areas of expertise.

When asked about her favorite CK core value, Rolake chose “Trust”. She explained, “I believe we are all made for relationships, and in the public accounting profession especially, trust is pivotal. With our clients, being their trusted advisors comes with the confidence they have in us to deliver competence, excellence, and timely value.”
