In Cray Kaiser’s Employee Spotlight series, we highlight a member of the CK team. We couldn’t be prouder of the team we’ve grown and we’re excited for you to get to know them. This month we’re shining our spotlight on Josh.
GETTING TO KNOW JOSH
In his role as an In-Charge Accountant in the tax department, Josh is responsible for preparing individual, partnership, s-corporation, c-corporation, and not-for-profit returns. He also participates in reviews/compilations and employee benefit plan auditing with the assurance team.
Joshua joined the CK team as a full-time staff accountant in June 2020 following a successful stint as an intern while a student at DePaul University in Chicago.
Prior to his internship, Joshua worked as a manager at Mcdonald’s throughout his college career.
WHY CK?
When seeking an internship, one of the things that attracted Josh to CK was the size of the firm and the chance to interact closely with and learn from all team members.
So it’s no surprise that Josh named education as his favorite Cray Kaiser core value. “The focus on education and learning new aspects of the job helps me continue to evolve as an accountant. Education also helps me gain the knowledge needed to embody the other CK core values of care, people and integrity.”
Josh appreciates the helpful and friendly nature of his co-workers and enjoys getting the chance to know them better during company outings.
MORE ABOUT JOSH
- How do you like to spend your weekends/time off?
Whenever I’m not at work I like to start my mornings off with a 6-to-12-mile run. Afterward, I like to pig out on whatever foods/drinks I’ve been craving during the week. Then I usually hang out with friends or family who I don’t see much during the week.
- What is the #1 place on your vacation list?
My favorite vacation spot is Denver, Colorado. I love being out in nature and the hiking there is the greatest. I’ve been there on six separate occasions and plan on visiting again. There are endless activities I want to do there.
- What’s your favorite movie or tv show?
My two favorite TV shows are Succession and House of Lies. I tend to like shows that in some way take part in the business world. Both shows can be funny, but still have real drama during each episode.
- What’s the last book you read?
The last book I read is the fourth book in Bernard Cornwell’s “The Last Kingdom” series. It takes place in 9th century England and is about the battles between England and the Vikings/Norsemen from Scandinavia. There is also a Netflix series based off the books so that’s always a bonus seeing the visual representation!
